Day Tripping: Summer Breeze

This weekend my buddy Lo and I decided to drive to Palm Springs to do some thrifting. I honestly don't know why the thought hasn't crossed my mind before being that Palm Springs is an hour and a half away, and the selections are amazing! I scored a few killer pieces [I plan on taking some What I Wore pics soon utilizing some of my newly acquired threads] that I can't wait to show you!

I am wearing a Diane Von Furstenberg dress that I belted, and temporarily shortened [the dress is knee length; but when I belted the dress, I pulled it up to make it short. The belt keeps the "style" in place] as this makes the dress a little more modern. I plan on doing a Youtube video that explains this technique, as I tend to do this a lot. It comes in handy when you thrift dresses that are too long, or have a dress in your closet that you would like to spruce up.

Edit: My hair in these pics is a result of a braid and curl! I used the small purple plastic rollers, and rolled my hair about 1inch. - I was inspired by Sewing Stardom, after ooogling over her pictures for an insane amount of time!

Here are a few places to check out if you ever make your way to Palm Springs;
Angel View Thrift
Estate Sale Company
Resale Therapy

DVF Dress
Jeffrey Campbell Boots
H&M Bracelets

  2. I love, love your Palm Springs look.

    Your braidout looks a little different, like the ends are curled. Did you do a braid-n-curl?

  8. Your hair looks really nice! I feel like we have similar textures, so it's motivating that your hair is that long. If I can get mine to look like that...I'll probably never straighten, lol.
