Blue Black

It is Friday. I love Friday's. Any other day you couldn't pay me enough to roll out of bed before 6:45AM [that might be negotiable], but today I jumped up at 5AM ready to start my day. I was so bright-eyed and bushy-tailed, I decided to attempt yet another wash and go. It came out eh, by the time I left my house my hair was in a high pony.
I have come to face the grim reality that the longer I go without pressing my hair, the more shrinkage I get in the back. I am definitely not a fan of the shag, and I didn't appreciate not one bit that I looked like Billy Ocean when all was said and done.

It was a pretty sunny day in L.A, so I decided to throw on my most comfy pair of shorts, and my American Apparel tights. I absolutely love their tights, talk about instant toning of the gams! Please forgive the pic quality, the lighting was awful this morning!

  1. I luv the tights with shorts look. I don't have any shorts so I'll have to make some. Lol. I just keep having this vision of wearing some black shorts with grey tights. Hahaha.

  2. first of let me say that i luv ur hair, style, and blog. I had the same shrinkage issue with my hair and found this lady on youtube (taren916) who gave the best tutorial on preventing that whole "shrinkage" thing. So basically you pre-poo,wash,condition,jel (or watevr u do to define ur curls), and then seal with the oil of your choice (i love evoo). After that you dry your hair not all the way through, leave it a little bit wet with a diffuser. The diffuser is realy good because it drys your hair without blowing it out (if you get what I'm saying-- it keeps everything in palce) then, after that you take off the diffuser and stretch out your roots by blowing them with ur regular blowdrier. It works like a charm. I do it all the time and it adds an extra 2- 3 inches. Try it. As a matter of fact while I was writing this my frend reminded me that there is a tutorial by taren916 on this on youtube. Here is the link. Good luck and please don't press out your hair :-(. Love the leggings!

  3. I randomly happened upon your blog and love it! I'm working on a hair blog post and this is the perfect coincidence. I am considering transitioning...again. I've done it a couple of times and eventually succumbed to the relaxer. But for now, I'm focusing on natural hair products...while I come to terms with the fact that I'll have to make a big chop.

Great blog. Great hair. Great outfits. Definitely following.
