Update

Hey all! My inbox was flooded today with concerned folks asking if I was ok, if I was coming back, what happened to me etc.  Today happens to be one of my better days, and I was urged to post an update while I felt up to it. About a year or so ago I was diagnosed with a hereditary disease called Wilson's disease. Late last year my symptoms flared up pretty bad which caused numerous hospital visits and me pretty much sleeping or in bed all day due to extreme nausea, gastrointestinal issues and fatigue. 

My mom will continue to respond to emails while I recuperate, however I will not be filling any orders until further notice [except replacement items, pieces that needed to be re-sized etc OR unless you have received an email with an expected ship date from my mother].  I do apologize for the inconvenience. Those with pending orders will receive a refund via Paypal. My mom has her hands full taking care of me, my daughter, and her other two children, so if you have yet to receive a refund via Paypal, you can also file a "non-received item" dispute via Paypal which will initiate the refund process.

I would like to resume posting this week, however until I get on the right dose of meds; I have to take it day by day!! Thank you everyone who sent prayers, offers to help, my way! It is truly appreciated :-)

    Yea I don't understand either. Why happened with your other blog?? F&M?? I read some of the entries they sound NOTHING like you. Like these two blogs are written by two completely different people. We want answers! Why did you make it seem like your jewelry line was new?     SMH at the people who "want answers" and are giving you "a hard side-eye". It saddens me that some people can be so insensitive. I can understand people being upset about not receiving items they have ordered, but really, there is no need to be rude! They need to get their refund and keep it moving.

    I am so very glad to hear that you are feeling somewhat better. I've been checking for updates daily and I know many of us have been worried since you first mentioned you had fallen ill. I had no idea it was something so serious! So, you take care of YOU and don't worry about those uncaring people. My thoughts are with you and your family. I hope you make it through this unfortunate situation soon!

    @Anon; I stopped posting on that, I was working non-stop, running a household, and going to school. I'm sure many other bloggers can relate to having started more than one blog. I don't think there is anything wrong with that.

    Anyone who read my blog knew that by trade I was a jewelry designer, however I never had the time to focus due to other obligations so I stayed designing for stylists. - I'm not sure what it is that you are looking for. However if you have an actual concern, please email me. I'm not going to going to engage in any type of negative exchange, as my main concern is healing. Freedom of expression is ALWAYS welcome [whether you agree with me or not, as that's what makes us all unique], but blatant disrespect for me and my family will not be tolerated, and any "anonymous" malicious comments will be deleted.

    Sorry to have to have that kind of exchange amidst all the positive. I appreciate all the well wishes, prayers, and positive energy sent my way. I definitely appreciate it!

    I think the majority of those comments were just from people who wanted their money back, or at least some sort of explanation of what was going on with their merchandise. The whole Moptopmaven-gate/scam artist thing I think was a whole other level in itself... I won't touch on that one.

    Anyways, I'm glad that the issue of orders has finally been addressed. Feel better, MTM.

    I had a hard day today. I'm working on a personal project (a memoir). I was distracted by negative energy and as a result I lost an entire day worth of work. Reading some of these comments-I realize that negative energy will always find a way to seep in. But the power of positivity will always be greater.

    Nikole you do not know how happy my friend and I felt when we saw you updated, she called me and told me sounding so happy. I am sorry to hear about you illness but with God all things are possible and a healing is coming your way. I was the Anon who responded to spoilchild because I could not wrap my head around someone who cannot give another the benefit of the doubt, and posting such negativity is really disheartening. I knew you would have worked it out somehow, your knowledge is a blessing, get well and continue to share.     I'm someone that has been a reader of this blog for a long time now, as well as someone that purchased items during the holiday sale. I've seen people debating whether this thing has been a scam or if she's been really sick and I wanted to throw in my 2 cents.

    First off, it goes without saying that Nikole is immensely talented and creative, yet I think all of this confusion and chaos was just a result of bad business, not a scam. There's a big difference between someone being a successful blogger and someone running a successful business. She's not a huge corporation like Target or Nordstrom, so once she got sick things shut down. Now, I definitely think more could have been done to alert customers on a business end, but as a consumer you have to cover yourself as well.

    For those that sat by their computer screens waiting for an update and failing to follow the necessary steps with pay pal to cover your money,shame on you. Yes, we feel like we know someone based on their blogs and YouTube videos but when it comes to business and money being exchanged we have to treat things like a business.

    I filed a claim with PayPayl to cover myself before the 45 day time limit, but also worked with Nikole's mother to get my order out. Just from the emails we exchanged I could tell her mother was seemingly overwhelmed with all of the hats she was wearing. As a parent I'm sure she wanted to be by Nikole's side nursing her back to health, not dealing with demanding clients that wanted their earrings and bracelets.

    I'm not trying to downplay things because I understand how annoying it can be to have paid your money and not have an update about your merchandise, but I think the last thing her family wanted to do is handle her business when she was in and out of the hospital over the last few months.

    With all that said, this can be considered a lesson learned for everyone involved. In the future I'm sure she'll give quicker updates regarding her business... and the next time you buy something online you may be quicker to file a claim when you don't have communication on where your stuff is.

    This is still one of my favorite blogs and I'm hoping Nikole heals up. I'm sure everyone will be looking forward to her sharing her talents with all of us readers...

    I hope that you have a speedy recovery! This blog has been a very helpful resource to me and I appreciate the time that you have put into the videos, and the research done backing up your suggestions!
    To all of the negative angry people: Quit trippin its just jewelry folks! not your life savings. I've waited months to get products from small businesses before (ie new natural hair care lines)! Before you get all up in arms, take a moment to actually look up the disease (which she did not HAVE to disclose) and maybe you will understand the delay in response! Do you really think NATIONALLY RENOWED blogger trying to start a business would be involved in a scam? Really people who do things like that normally stay UNDER the radar. Ok I'm done ranting for now. And props to the anon who apologized! hope others follow suit. Best Wishes!

    I have Wilson's Disease. I don't know anyone else who does (except my mom but she's just a carrier). I would love to talk to someone who is going through the same thing I'm going through. I unfortunately was diagnosed with it about 5 years ago. I'm doing better but.. you know the deal. I admire you because you're able to really live life. I personally have been in and out of the hospital for a while now because of the disease destroying my liver.

    Guys if you don't hear from Nikole for a while it's because she'll have to go through intense treatment. I wish you had told us sooner Nikole. We had no idea!

    I too ordered something during the sale, but some of these posters are acting like they spent their last dime on some jewelry. Is it that crucial? Did you get evicted because you spent all your money? Did you miss a bill or something because of it? Damn...

    I didn't purchase anything from Nikole, but I understand the frustration with seemingly giving your money away for nothing. With that being said, don't be a dummy...file a complaint with PayPal and get your money back...I mean you have over a whole month to do so.

    I was quite taken back with how nasty it got in the last post. Funny how one bad apple can turn a crowd, despite the saying. All of a sudden people jumped on the "it was all a scam" bandwagon. Nikole would have to be the dumbest scam artist ever to have her whole damn life in view for all of you and then try to make off with your money.

    Lastly, I am the first person to say your health before anything else--but I don't own a business. I think it would have served a great purpose to shut down the store and have someone-anyone make a statement so your reputation doesn't get dragged through the mud. It's sad that people resort to the worst, but that is the world we live in and you have to be prepared for it in life.

    I am sooooo happy to know that you are getting better. You and you're family will continue to be in my prayers. Just worry about getting better and let the rest work itself out.
