With all of the product raves, reviews, and recommendations out there, it can be hard for a newbie to secure a roster of staple hair products. When I first started my hair journey, I bought every product mentioned on almost every hair board, and most of them went straight to the trash. It took a while for me to get a steady rotation of tried-and true products, so hopefully this list helps some of you out!
The products with the asterisks are my favorite, and also receive high marks across most hair boards/review forums. If you are a newbie, or simply rebuilding your hair regimen; do yourself a favor and keep it simple, pick one product from each section [with the exception of the recommended tools section], and build your regimen from there.

Thank you for the list! Can you add this to "Going Natural" tab for quick reference. To control my PJism, I'm only buying products when I need to add them to my regimen or switch them up. This will be a great reference!

What about Paul Mitchell's The Conditioner?
ReplyDeleteCould you post something about the steps you use for these products? My routine is to co-wash (with Hello Hydration), spray my leave-in (carols daughter black vanilla, seal with olive oil, then use a Carols Daughter black vanilla conditioner to moisturize. But I think my routines a bit off? Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated :)
ReplyDeleteThanks for the recommendations! I'm natural but am thinking of starting to straigten occasionally. Do you have any staple products that you use specifically for your straightened hair e.g. heat protectant and moisturisers that will minimise heat reversion? I noticed that you said you used Aveda brilliant damage control earlier - is that still working for you?
ReplyDeleteI have used up everything in my current product stash...I am seeking to rebuild my regimine, and add a few new items, I really need a great deep condish/treatment. I really, realy appreciate your list of products, and where I can purchase them. Questions: Do you ever use henna? If so, which brand do you use? And how do you use the oils you've listed. I know certain oils are better for different things.... I love your blog by the way....Thank You!
ReplyDeleteI have been wanting to try that Sebastian 2+1...I think I may get it this weekend and see how I like it
