This weekend my buddy Lo and I decided to drive to Palm Springs to do some thrifting. I honestly don't know why the thought hasn't crossed my mind before being that Palm Springs is an hour and a half away, and the selections are amazing! I scored a few killer pieces [I plan on taking some What I Wore pics soon utilizing some of my newly acquired threads] that I can't wait to show you!
I am wearing a Diane Von Furstenberg dress that I belted, and temporarily shortened [the dress is knee length; but when I belted the dress, I pulled it up to make it short. The belt keeps the "style" in place] as this makes the dress a little more modern. I plan on doing a Youtube video that explains this technique, as I tend to do this a lot. It comes in handy when you thrift dresses that are too long, or have a dress in your closet that you would like to spruce up.
Edit: My hair in these pics is a result of a braid and curl! I used the small purple plastic rollers, and rolled my hair about 1inch. - I was inspired by Sewing Stardom, after ooogling over her pictures for an insane amount of time!
Here are a few places to check out if you ever make your way to Palm Springs;
Angel View Thrift
Estate Sale Company
Resale Therapy
Wearing:
DVF Dress
Jeffrey Campbell Boots
H&M Bracelets
Thrifted Belt
This look is so beautiful. I'm loving the sweet innocent dress look with the over the knee boot, great contrast. nice to naughty.
ReplyDeleteI love, love your Palm Springs look.
ReplyDeleteYour braidout looks a little different, like the ends are curled. Did you do a braid-n-curl?
Cute!!! Love the outfits and the hair! Fab skin as well!
ReplyDeleteCute boots! I did some thrifting this weekend too at a place called Thrift Town in San Leandro's. If you get a chance you must check that out when you come back to the San Francisco area.
ReplyDeleteI always love your pictures! The colors are always so vibrant! And your hair is such a great accessory!
ReplyDeleteI Love that you two hang!! Brownies unite, when I come to Cali we will meet :D

@Alana Thank you so much :-0
@CurlyNaturallyBeautiful Oooooohhh yeah! Thrift Town!! Heard a lot of wonderful things about that little place. You are very lucky to live in what some would consider the west coast mecca of thrifting.
@Latoya Awww Thank you!!
@I LOVE JENEEN NICOLE That is a MUST!!!
@MizzTee Thank you!
Your hair looks really nice! I feel like we have similar textures, so it's motivating that your hair is that long. If I can get mine to look like that...I'll probably never straighten, lol.
ReplyDelete@Koos Thank you! I am SURE you can get your hair to look like that! It's all in finding the right products, and technique. :-)
